Records of the Eternal Sphere 2 ~ Scream ~
Scream
Classification: Demon, Outsider.
Affinities: Sound.
Location: Plane 13, any area with sound.
A Scream is an Outsider-type Demon originating on Plane 13. It resembles a tall, grey, emaciated human with stringy black hair and solid black eyes with yellow irises. A Scream’s eyes are open at all times and it does not seem capable of closing them. As it is an Outsider, it is capable of jumping planes so long as the target location is capable of supporting sound, which it is reliant on for many reasons.
As the name should rightfully imply, this Demon is known for unleashing horrible screams, often in the voice of one very close to the listener in some way, though this is not always noticed. Screams continue to exist by feeding off of the genuine screams of fear they bring about from their targets, although simply hearing a scream of genuine fear is enough to sate them whether they cause it or not. As a result, some Screams hide in areas likely to cause immense fear in those that

[The following is a translation of a strange, dusty old tome I and my colleagues came across after much travelling. We were uncertain of the language and nature of the book at first, believing at the start to be a religious text dedicated to a certain serpentine entity, as such writings were common in the area. It is in fact a bestiary of sorts, detailing information of a great many creatures native not only to this world, but every one we have seen, and likely more. It seems some of these creatures are actually native to other planes of existence, and as such I will have to take this book’s word for it. It seems to be capable of updating itself, as it has expanded since we discovered it, and the language it is written in varies by viewer, not always in one that the reader can understand. I and my colleagues are translating this in the hopes that this information will be of service to future travelers and wanderers, as well as any curious about the great many strange, fascinating

The Shackled King Act I Chapter 5
THE SHACKLED KING
Act I Chapter 5
As always, the mountain path was quiet and peaceful. Jeanne had seen many birds and rabbits moving about in the snow, and at one point a young wyvern flew overhead. Full of energy after resting in Gelm's comfortable inn, she had started at a brisk pace and would be home soon enough. She was eager to tell Alex, the Hierophant, and her fellow villagers about her travels, and see how they'd all been since she set out on her travels a year ago now.
The cold mountain air was refreshing to her; she did always enjoy the cold. Warmth was nice too, of course, but it didn't carry all the fond memories of home that an icy breeze did.
She noticed something stirring in the snow ahead, and for a moment tensed up. But it was a mountain cat, laying under a tree and watching her, curious. They didn't bother anyone unless they felt threatened, and even then try to drive them off first. Nothing to worry about, for once.
She came to the old bridge that reached across a lo

Act I Chapter 4
"It's pointless to take it out on the descendants. Those who caused the souls you were called by to suffer are no more. Gelm is dead, as are his associates."
"I know this, but that does not change what these people do on a regular basis! They continue his ways!"
"Yes, but in moderation. Do you disagree that one is not entitled to protect oneself, as well as those dear to them? That is ultimately what you are doing, after all, attempting to protect those you see as needing protection."
"...Yes. I will admit that, for the most part, these people act only in self-defense. But there are still several who actively attempt to exterminate the creatures of the surrounding forest, and should they have their way, far beyond that. To ignore such a thing is unthinkable for one such as myself."
Jeanne and the spirit had been discussing in this manner for some time, Jeanne trying to get the vengeful entity to see reason, and the spirit itself attempting to justify i

THE SHACKLED KING
Act I Chapter 1
Once, on the world of Rellis, there was a hero.
This hero was known as Lord Valionne, granted power by the God of All, Dieufaux.
With this holy power, Lord Valionne set out on a great journey, freeing the world of Rellis from the chains of suffering cast upon it by fiends great and small, human, monster, spirit or otherwise.
Xalarende, known as the Master of Monsters (or, according to some, the God of Monsters, though the followers of Dieufaux assert that there is but one God), encountered and due to unknown circumstances fought against Valionne. It is said the battle ended in a draw, and whatever issue the two had had been settled by it. Xalarende followed Valionne afterwards, as a friend and ally. Variations of the story say that the blessed hero and monster-king were later joined by others, though it is difficult for many historians to validate what is true and what is false regarding this tale.
Regardless of the size of the duo's band, they travel

Report #3: Krisaetia
"To plot our tactics, and destroy anything that would hurt my friends."
That is the response I received when I asked this valiant young man of his role in the group he traveled.
Krisaetia is a vast world, home to many races of people, and many kinds of creatures...some of which do not exist at all in other worlds. I returned here today to see what had changed in the world since my last visit, so as to stay up-to-date. It seems to be doing well, and I almost had nothing new to add- until I came across a peculiar party of four. Two young men and two young women, all around the same age. Two of them where clearly Krisaetian, though their clothing was very much from Earth. The young lady may have looked human at first glance, but her deep-dark blue(almost black, really) hair, and small, hand-sized wings(one birdlike, the other batlike), gave her away as half demon, half angel.
I need to point out that this is the first time I have ever heard of such

Report #2: Vasaly-el
A met a man today that filled me with terror.
I have seen him before, but not here on Vasaly-el. I have seen him at Spiral and Krisaetia, and I may have seen him on Earth. It was years ago when I first saw him, when I was just beginning my travels, and he looks the same now as he did back then. A tall, fair-skinned man with silky blonde hair, wearing a white coat that reaches down to the ground. Years have passed, and he looks far younger than he should. I do not know what this man is, yet it is clear he hails from some other world that I have not journeyed to...or perhaps he is from another plain of existence entirely. If that is so, his power is unimaginable, for even those called gods are not normally able to traverse the planes.
Today was different. I did not simply notice him. He approached me, and began to talk. I was frightened, for reasons I shall explain.
When I saw him, I realized that I had seen him before, and once I remembered him,

I'm totally slipping.

Anyway, Records of the Eternal Sphere is a bestiary detailing all of the creatures and more that are a part of the whole 'universe', so to speak, that my stories belong to. With this, I can both practice on staying focused as it will never fail to be fun to do, and have a handy quick-reference for myself so I don't go and contradict my own pre-establishments. As I seem to.

As far as life stuff goes, while I still have no job, a place will be opening up soon where I live that should be taking in a lot of new employees. I bet I'll do alright there. I'm also pretty much guaranteed to pre-order Shin Megami Tensei IV now, though at the cost of a lot of games and books I've had for a while...and I still have no 3DS. C'est la vie, I suppose.

I'm getting to it...

The problem is that it's almost done, since it's a short story, and when it's done I plan to begin immediately on Krisaetia. Which has been in planning since 2003.

So nearly ten years.

It brought back some fond memories...I've never played D&D, but I buy the manuals because I love reading about the monsters. However, the one I had with the Cloaker entry was stolen. By a teacher, no less.
